The themes of this animation have been inspired by the stories of Aboriginal Dreamtime, in particular the way in which nature was explained to the next generations through stories of magical creatures and events. The story I have focused on is based loosely on the story of Indra’s Mount, and of the mythical elephant that bought about the monsoons to re-vitalise the arid deserts.  Using 2D digital animation, photography and live action elements, I have composted and animated a short story incorporating the four natural elements and how they work together to bring about the rainy season, and to explain evaporation and precipitation in the natural world. To create a more cinematic final product, I have also used poetry and instrumentation to create a soundtrack to help aid the narrative and to add extra drama and suspense to the film.
